Ricciardo set to return to F1 in 2024

Daniel Ricciardo says he intends to return to the F1 grid in 2024 after a ‘pause’ in 2023.

The 33-year-old Australian driver, who has won eight races, reached a mutual agreement with McLaren in August to leave the team at the end of the 2022 campaign.

Ricciardo admitted that although he failed to secure a seat for next season, his career in F1 is not over.

“Certainly the plans are still involved in F1,” he told British newspaper The Mirror. “As I see it, it’s kind of a pause, and as far as my F1 career goes, the full intention is[to drive]in 2024.”

Ricciardo will enter the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas this Sunday, ranked 12th in the driver rankings.

His most recent win was the Italian Grand Prix in September 2021.
