Road Concert for Adelaide Festival

New Zealand superstar Lorde will perform his first Adelaide concert since 2014 as part of next year’s Adelaide Festival.

Los Angeles indie pop trio MUNA and SA singer-songwriter Stelly will also perform at the outdoor event at The Village Green, Adelaide Oval on March 16th.

Tickets go on sale to Festival Friends on Tuesday at 10am and to the general public on Wednesday at 10am from Tickettech. General admission is $129 for standing.

After a three-year hiatus from touring, Lorde returned to performing live this year following the release of his third album, Solar Power.

The setting of the festival’s outdoor concerts, set against a backdrop of native bush, echoes the theme of the album.

“Solar Power is a tribute to the natural world and an attempt to immortalize the deep, transcendent feelings of being outdoors,” said Lorde.

“In times of heartache, grief, deep love, and confusion, I look to the natural world for answers.

Lorde’s tour begins in New Zealand in February, with dates already announced for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Born Ella Mariya Lani Yerich O’Connor, Lorde topped the US charts at age 16 and won two Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year for her single “Royals.”
