Roma move up to fourth with another narrow win
AS Roma moved into fourth place with a 1-0 victory over Serie A underground side Sampdoria, thanks to an early penalty from midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.
Roma were spot-kicked by Pellegrini in the ninth minute in Genoa on Monday and Alex Ferrari handballed past goalkeeper Emil Audero.
Sampdoria, who had one point after losing four games in a row against Bologna last weekend, dominated possession against Jose Mourinho’s side but conceded just one shot on target.
Roma have won seven games this season, six of them by one goal.
They have 22 points from 10 games, four points behind pacesetters Napoli.
Sampdoria, who have not won a league match this season, are bottom with three points.
