Tame Impala Australia Tour: Band issues seizure warning

Tame Impala has warned fans about the risk of seizures after many concertgoers fell ill during a gig in Auckland.

The psychedelic band will kick off their Australian tour in Brisbane on Tuesday, also visiting Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

One of the visual elements that form part of their act sent Oakland fans into seizures, the band said on Instagram.

“Everyone, please remember that there are some very intense visual moments in our show. If you’re sensitive to that sort of thing or think you’re prone to seizures, please be careful.

“Also, if you see someone in need, do the right thing as a fellow concertgoer and help them/ask for help. I’ve found that having space for and making a way out of is very helpful (this is true in all kinds of medical emergencies).”

The band added that while some people had to be treated by paramedics, they did not have to go to the hospital.

Tame Impala is spearheaded by Kevin Parker, who was born in Sydney and spent most of his childhood in Perth.
